Role of Collaborative
The BC Asset Building Collaborative is a network of asset development practitioners in British Columbia committed to working together to promote and develop asset building strategies and programs. The BCABC will accomplish this goal through activity in four key areas:
- Promote and Educate: build awareness of asset building as both an individual and community development strategy and influence its implementation regionally, provincially and nationally
- Program Support: share program resources and develop effective practice guidelines and tools through documenting our knowledge and creating forums for discussion
- Policy Development: contribute to public policy debate and advocate for supportive public policy to remove barriers and provide incentives for asset building for low income Canadians
- Funding Strategy: expand funding opportunities, develop a long term funding strategy to support the sustainability and expansion of asset building in BC
The BC ABC acts as a vehicle through which practitioners can share experiences, information, success stories, and best practices with each other; while at the same time taking a co-operative approach to moving the asset building agenda forward in British Columbia.
