Money Skills: The Financial Literacy Program, Family Services of Greater Vancouver

Organizational Information:

Family Services of Greater Vancouver is a community-based not-for-profit organization providing crucial social services to children, youth, adults, and families across Vancouver, Richmond, Burnaby, New Westminster, and Surrey. We offer support, provide hope, and present opportunities-helping people realize and create possibilities for themselves. All of our work is about building healthy, vibrant tomorrows.

Program Description

The Financial Literacy program is designed to help people on very limited income to build their skills and access information to effectively manage their money and plan for their future. The program is available through partnership with FSGV and host agencies that provide the space and coordinate the participant groups. The four session program covers goal setting, budgeting, banking, credit and consumerism.

Target Participants

Participants are community members from across the Lower Mainland. The sessions are available through community agencies and many are open for anyone to attend. The majority of participants are low income, immigrants and women.
